The page is assembled here, but good work leaves a trail back to the people and public resources that made it possible.
Star positions and constellation figures
Derived from d3-celestial by Olaf Frohn under the BSD 3-Clause License. Star data is filtered to magnitude 5.0, constellation lines are repacked, and both are committed as deterministic build inputs.
Time-zone coordinates
Representative coordinates are derived from zone.tab in the IANA Time Zone Database, which is in the public domain. The table lets the browser choose a useful starting sky without a permission prompt or a third-party call.
Lato
Lato is copyright Ćukasz Dziedzic and licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The light and regular faces are subset to Latin, converted to WOFF2 and self-hosted, so reading this site never contacts a font provider.
Under the brim
The catalogue is generated reproducibly and committed. Browser and server share the same astronomy module, so the accessible description and the canvas cannot drift into two different skies.
CSS and JavaScript are minified into content-hashed assets. Fonts and data receive immutable cache headers and precompressed Brotli and gzip files; pages revalidate so a deployment is never hidden behind stale HTML.
